VOCATIONAL COURSE

Australia offers a wide range of vocational training courses that are divided into different levels. You don't have to start from Certificate I, as the starting point depends on your previous education and qualifications. Courses usually begin with Certificate III or IV, or sometimes even a vocational diploma.

Each VET course typically lasts between 6-24 months and can be applied for individually or bundled together with other courses.

Classes are held for about 20-25 hours per week in person. The cost of VET training in Australia depends on the course, city, and school you choose. Prices range from AU$ 4,500 to AU$22,000 per year, including training materials. Higher-level vocational courses are generally associated with higher fees.

VET courses are divided into different units or subjects, and to earn credit for a unit, you must complete the required assignments. Assignments may include theoretical questions and answers, essays, or practical projects or case studies. The classes use various teaching methods to keep the lessons engaging and interesting, making it easier for students to acquire knowledge quickly.

To enroll in a VET course in Australia, you need to meet some requirements. The first requirement is English language proficiency, with an intermediate level of understanding being necessary for most courses. Some courses may require an IELTS certificate (score of 5.5 or higher) or a Cambridge certificate (FCE or higher)

Secondly, the second requirement is academic background, you must have completed at least the third year of high school in your home country to access the first level of a VET course.

Thirdly, you need to apply for a Study Visa to attend a VET course in Australia, and the visa lasts depending on your course duration. Keep in mind that a Working Holiday Visa only allows you to study for 17 weeks, which is usually not enough time to complete a VET course.

What makes VET courses a great choice?

  • You can balance work and study with a weekly schedule that's flexible and convenient.

  • VET courses are an excellent substitute for traditional higher education, giving you practical skills that can help you excel in your chosen career.

  • You don't have to pay the tuition fee all at once - it can be paid in smaller installments.
